I agree. Always easier to begin with fresh install so as not to compete with other apps. Learned the hardway of upgrading to Windows from DOS. What an absolute terror. As for someone liking it hating Win10, it’s all mindset — if you are going in with open mind, while although there will be a learning curve, after : weeks to a month, it will be second nature. If someone goes in kicking and screaming and saying they are going to hate it, then it will be an endless nightmare and a fight.
