Unfortunately, when you take any time off, they replace you and move onwards. It's like starting over, and so you begin again. Get your profile current, list your experience, SD is a platform, more bad than good, but it's also a place to start. I have some good companies on there. Look in SC and sart signing up once again. They will not come knocking at your door unless you proactively start making calls and listing your experience. A year off is a lot, and not sure why all your companies went out of business. It's not been that long at only 1 year. Good luck!
