. . . it's just that you will never get a single job from it. One of my very dear notary friends advertised in one of those publications several years ago. Yes they are looking for notaries who have been doing this for a long time as it looks very good in their beautiful glossy magazine. I think there are probably several of these professional directories out there. The one he advertised in was something that law firms were also advertising in and he was able to advertise his notarial services in it. He paid a bunch of money to advertise in this thing in the hopes that attorneys would contact him for general notary work. It ended up to be a ginormous disappointment and a colossal waste of money. The magazine was beautiful, his listing was exactly what he paid for . . . a business card size listing with his picture advertising his notary services for all the world to see. Then he finds out that this professional directory has zero circulation and he is responsible for circulating it himself. I think they sent him two boxes of magazines and told him to start circulating. While he was out dragging those two boxes of shiny, glossy, professional directory magazines with his beautiful business card sized listing with his pictures advertising his notarial services in it, he could have been passing out his business cards instead.
