Mike's post prompted a vague recollection of a discussion on E&O years ago about different companies offering different quality of coverage. Don't quote me on this, but I think one of the issues was whether the insurance only offered coverage during the term of the policy or if it covered incidents that happened *during* the period the policy was in effect regardless of when a claim was made.

I'm guessing most of us just select the cheapest policy we can find without giving those issues much thought... May be time to re-think that.
