Here are two reasons to turn them down:
1) You'd probably be receiving money that someone else has been waiting a long time for.
2) You're helping to keep a crooked, non-paying company in business.
If they can't find anyone to do their work, they have to close their doors. So JUST SAY "NO"!! We have to step up and acknowledge that notaries who take work paid in advance are complicit in keeping these scoundrels in operation, free to prey on others.
Also, if they can't fill the assignment, the title co will have to call another, hopefully much better, company to get the job filled. Wouldn't you rather be getting that business from a company that pays all their notaries on time - and maybe even pays more?
