***We were all newbies once.***
I was never a newbie. I was a beginner, a neophyte, a tenderfoot, a novice, a tyro, an abecedarian, a greenhorn, a novitiate, even a trainee, if you will. I was never a newbie. What's more, I will never be a newbie; there is no power great enough to impress upon me that most repugnant of labels. When age -- or a really irate husband -- finally catches up to me, and I go that that great discussion group in the sky, I will go as a celestial beginner, a neophyte, a tenderfoot, a novice, a tyro, an abecedarian, a greenhorn, a novitiate, even a trainee, if you will. I will never ever go as a newbie. |
