Actually, there's nothing stopping sellers, borrowers, and others from using RON inside of California, either, but that doesn't mean they won't have problems. I notarized a single document for someone the other day who'd used a Florida RON notary the day before, but it ended up rejected by the document recipient, so he had to do it again. (He said it had something to do with not "personally appearing" before the notary, which I was happy to hear.)
Sadly, I suspect there's a great deal of CA business going to RON already. |
