 Seller/Buyer signing for today ...
Posted by  Yoli/CA on 5/19/22 9:14am

... that almost didn't happen! First scheduled for 10:00am. Then, changed to 12 noon. Then, changed to 3pm. THEN ....

During the confirmation process, come to find out one of the borrower's only has an expired ID -- expired in 2018. The buyers are a son and mother and it's the mother's ID that's expired. He obviously knew about this little tidbit prior to my call as he informed me about it as soon as I inquired about everyone having valid government-issued ID. He asks about using all the other items like SS card, birth certificate, health insurance, etc. Nope. He volunteered to take her to DMV for replacement and get the receipt. Informed him I could only use the receipt if it contains all the information AND photo like included in a driver's license/state-issued ID (i.e., description, signature, address, DOB, expiration). As a final recourse, I explained credible witnesses to him and asked if he could procure 2 credible witnesses, who must have valid government-issued ID, for his mom in time for signing appointment IF this was allowed by his lender. Yes, absolutely!

Of course, lender approved. They dropped the ball. They should've caught this little item at the very beginning. Wink
