Re: Seller/Buyer signing for today ...

How old was the mother? Was it a DL, passport or ID? Just curious.
After a certain age, they need this for their SS, Medicare, and hospitals, so really no excuse to let this go.
How did you fill out the Patriot act using a Credible Witness?

Sometimes people are LAZY...I had a closing last week where the wife was married 4 years ago and too darned lazy to change her DL. Her SS matched her married name, but nothing else that matched a Gov. ID I could use for her docs.
How did this happen in the first place and notarized like that? She just told them her married last name and thought a SS would suffice. Apparently, it did the first time to get her name like that in the first place.
The whole seller package was full of cross-outs and corrections of the last name and a new Warranty Deed and something else that was included that I can't remember having to be printed.
Then she said she had a printer, but printed in blue in a weird font.
Lucky for her they were closing at a title company for their new home later in the afternoon at a title company, so I believe they just forward that along to be signed there. I bet they had a nice wait because they were depending on the funds from this sale for the next purchase in the afternoon. Everyone probably had to wait of her nonchalant actions of taking care of things when supposed to and realizing the importance of having a legal DL.

Don't most if not all DMVs print the new one while you are there? They do have where I live. It's not like decades ago, they have the machine that prints them out. You go in and take the picture, and wait about 10 minutes. Set up the appointment for the service you need online and in most cases is the same day or next, no waiting weeks out...they have it really streamlined now.
