I would also appreciate elaboration, especially for the part about "already getting issues with the online doc signings when the revisions don't match."
Theoretically on Friday of next week (June 1) I will gain the authority to make a paper certified copy of an electronic document, even one which has been electronically notarized by some other notary. I don't expect to be asked, and I don't plan to do so, but I have thought about how to examine a document to see if I wanted to print and certify it.
My experience with electronically signed documents viewed in Adobe Reader is that, if they haven't been tampered with, the program will tell you it hasn't been tampered with since it was signed. But getting the nice pale blue band at the top with the seal icon at the left letting you know that everything is fine is hard. You have to play with some highly technical settings in Adobe Reader to inform the reader software that you trust the Certificate Authority that issued the notary's digital certificate.
I wonder if these difficulties have anything to do with Signerbill's statement. |
