 Re: Signing Agent Necessity

A Notary Signing Agent is actually two jobs. One is a facilitator of the loan signing, making sure each document is signed and/or filled out correctly, and secondly, a Notary Public. Most of the duties are as the facilitator and the NSA is required to have knowledge of how the loan documents are to be completed, especially how to complete the time frame of The Right To Cancel document. The Notary part is just following your state's Notary Public law and completing the few pages that need a notarization. You will also need a background check done by the Nationally known notary organization.

So, having said all that, if you do not have any experience with mortgage documents, then taking a basic NSA course through that Nationally known Notary organization and getting the background check through them, will help you as you begin your new venture.
