The overhead associated with being a notary could also apply to some other gigs.

-You've talked to your insurance agent about whether your policy allows you to drive your car for business, and how much is OK.

-You've set up a business bank account and bookkeeping system.

This setup is good for things like home or business inspections, officiating at weddings, working as an election worker, Uber, and more. (Why election worker? Because my town just gives me a check. no W2. It's on me to keep track of it and report it on my tax return, just like I would do with notary income.)
