I think half the world has gotten past the issue of race but the other half is still here with us. One of my DILs is not caucasian and I cannot believe of some of the stupid comments the older people in the family make. My uncle's wife is a beautiful black woman and my mother loves her but my mother still says some pretty dumb things...why? Because THAT'S WHAT SHE THINKS and no one can change it.

Tina...I agree with you...there is still a lot of ignorance in this world...maybe by the time our kids are watching theirs graduate from college this world will have matured to embrace and learn from difference...do not separate and close your mind.
