 Re: Update on XYZ

I'd forgotten about the FindANotary thing they added, which I took as just another way to squeeze more money out of us. Frown I'd be interested to know if that 'top tier listing' does any good, although I suspect I'd choose to not get it anyway. Since I don't trust them and don't like their business practices, I choose to not do any more business with them than I believe I absolutely have to. However, I accept that we each have to make whatever decision is right for us, and that it won't be the same for everyone. Thanks to your update, I'll be sure to look out for that next time I have to renew what I call our annual extortion payment... Wink

BTW, while I'm venting, has anyone else noticed that their website never saves the privacy settings they're supposed to provide under current California law that allow us to opt out from them selling our personal data? I routinely turn that setting off and generally don't have to do it more than once on every site where I've made those selections. The one exception is theirs. I've just learned that any time I click on a link in their weekly newsletter (which I still read from time to time, just in case), I ALWAYS have to once again reset the choice to not share my personal data.

It makes me wonder whether or not they just ignore those choices and sell our data anyway. [One of these years, I may find the time and inclination to report them to whatever state agency would have jurisdiction over that... if I can find it.] It's clearly not the most important issue out there, but to me, it's an example of either an attitude of indifference or disrespect towards the notary community or a lack of competence on their part - or maybe a combination of all of the above? Has anyone else noticed that? As a California-based company, they should know better!
