The problems with Adobe Reader 7.0 are usually because of left over DLL's and traces of previous installations of Adobe.
To ensure a safe and complete install of the the 7.0 reader, ALL previous versions must be completely removed. This may mean also removing any leftover files and folders on your system drive as well as possibly editing the registry. (***Do not edit the registry unless you know what you are doing!***)
After removing all previous versions, restart your system to clear out any persistent DLL's that my be in memory, then install v7.0. Make sure 7.0 is running and do the upgrades to version 7.0.3 before attempting to upgrade to 7.0.5.
I've been very happy with 7.0.5. I think it is faster than all previous versions of the Reader. |
