As with most anything, it comes with experience and time. I signed up with the higher rated services here when I first started. I've only had two late (but finally paid) companies, except Signatures Plus now, who is in financial trouble and I haven't been paid yet for last year.
You can search company names here and read other's experiences but except for a few glaring no-nos, I give most the benefit of the doubt.
I have found that some posters that have had bad experiences equally give others good experiences. There are many reasons a notary won't be paid or happy, many times it's their errors, or not sending an invoice or other issues.
When you sign up, read the fine print on the vendor contracts. Some do not pay anything if the loan doesn't fund, or will simply pay a 'trip fee'. There's all kinds out there and they all have their own policies. |
