| I do only community type notarizations (not enough to make a living at, but a little extra income in addition to my regular work of tax preparation). Most of those are mobile, and the client agrees to a mobile fee before I come to them, even if something happens and I cannot do the notarization. I actually find that there have been very few "flakes", and I at least collect the mobile fee once I leave the house. Maybe it is because I usually go to their home, or hospital room, and if they are willing to give me the info on where they live and invite me into their home, they are serious about getting a proper notarization done. The ones who do flake out on me are the ones who are asking to come to my home for the notarization, I guess they are more likely to be the ones who are not really serious. When they want to come to me, I get ready to meet them, but I don't wait around forever, I will wait only 10-15 minutes then forget about them. Just part of the job in my opinion. |
