Do laser printers have a certain life expectancy?

Is there a certain life expectancy on the under 500.00 laser printers??? I am on my second one this was close to 450.00. HP laser2015p. I have had for almost 1 year. I do at least 13 e-Docs per month not very many 2nds this year. It seems that my printer is slowing down and is having issue after issue. Any knowledge on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks
