"It's pretty much Notary 101 anywhere that the elements of any notarization include the signer being either acknowledged or sworn in to the content and/or truthfulness of the document, as well as date and venue. Otherwise, what are you notarizing?"


Notary language is not required in Maryland. We can "witness" signatures using the procedure spelled out in our handbook. Page 9, Part IV, paragraph 26 spells out the procedure.
