bhb/VA summed up pretty well why I think I'm about to renew my membership again. Last year's renewal was a no-brainer for me, because I needed to renew my commission. As a Premier member, I got the 3-hr training program that's required for all CA renewing notaries for free, and I got the nice discount on new stamps and other supplies.
This site offers us more intangible benefits than I can count. I've learned a great deal here from other notaries over the years and that's not only helped me be a better notary, but it's helped me run my notary business better and more profitably. This is also probably the best site out there for keeping up with what's new in our field. Plus, I get the tax deduction while supporting this site. 
BTW, one way to tell who is a Premier member is to look for the orange box, which only shows up next to those who have linked their profiles and are paid members. If their name/alias on this forum is in black, they've chosen to remain anonymous and not link their profiles, so we don't know.
