I have no practical experience; VT has never allowed its notaries to do RON. Today I'm allowed to do RIN but no one has asked for that service.
I have taken one training course, Pavaso, which was for electronic notarization. (I only got one request for that and the signer was too far away.) I've watched a few videos from some platforms, and I've done some electronic signatures for charities I volunteer with that did not involve notarization.
I can't imagine a boilerplate doc get tagged 'once & done forever' just because of the notary certificates. In all the packages I've ever seen since Vermont updated it's 18th century notarization law, I think I've only seen one or two packages where all the certificates were close enough to the VT requirements that I could use them with a few strikeouts and initials. If I wasn't allowed to make any strikeouts (that would be the case with an electronic document), I don't think I've ever seen a package where all the certificates were acceptable. |
