Re: New Notary Help! Sorry to say this but

Thanks for those accolades on my prior success as a major player in this industry for years.

Danyele, I'll bet no one told you to do your homework, like, your competition. There are 866 notaries in Orange, CA, not to mention in your surrounding cities. The population of your little town of Orange is 139,091 in 2023, only 3.2 million in the county of orange.

What are the possibilities your phone will start ringing off the hook any day now? Not good. If all my peers are having the same experience I am in getting tons of business, guess what your experience is going to be. Well, we're not taking the bottom feeding fees that are offered these days, we're finding other ways to supplement the business downturn.

You probably didn't know about this site as you were preparing to take your class and exam. If the instructor painted a glamourous picture of what was to come once you passed the test, received your commission, ordered your seal and bond, E&O and other supplies. I'll bet you were overwhelmed with excitement, yet trepidation of your new career.

Sorry you will be dismally disappointed. POOF. It's been gone for almost a year now.

If I were you, I would get out there and seek employment with a solid company, solid reputation, perks like health insurance and IRA matching funds, retirement, trips to Disneyland and Five Flags, Dodger games, etc. A career with a future is the one you should be seeking. Leave this dream in the dust, my dear. Someone fed you a boatload of BS. Tell your friends, too. There is no shortage of people out there trying to sell you title company and signing service leads to line their own pockets, cuz they don't have any business either. Demographics are so important. There is an outfit in MI, a small town of around 2500 people in it. How many of those people do you think are refi'ing, getting HELOCS, selling their homes. Probably not too many. Metro area notaries have more business if they are already connected, and that takes years to develop.

Let me mention that in my world, a lot of escrow, title and lenders I've worked for for years are looking at retirement, moving out of the GOLDEN STATE, now doing door dash, instacart, UBER, LYFFT, ETC. and looking for other work opportunities outside of real estate.

The only people who will tell you this is a potential $six figure business are the people who also have no work, selling you a false spin on the loan signing business.

I am very sorry for your loss and the loss of your compadres out there who are falling for the same scams. Having a notary commission could come in very handy in your next job search. The notary is a huge plus to companies these days.
