I just renewed my VT notary commission (everybody's expires Jan 31). While I was on the web site, I discovered that the mechanism to add an "Electronic Notary" special endorsement is there. One must upload a certificate for 1 hour of additional continuing education, beyond the 1 hour needed to renew a regular commission. Of course, this training is not yet available, nor are there any rules finalized yet.
It looks like it will be free for me (if I decide to ask for it) because I'm a Justice of the Peace. Town Clerks and their staff are also free. The regular commission is also free for these officers. |
