| yes. As I understand things computer-wise, the print job gets spooled into the printer's memory during the printing process. Thus, larger memory enables more to be kept there (temporarily) while the print job completes. If your printer comes with 8MB standard and doesn't get upgraded, a 6MB file will use up virtually ALL of the printer's memory, tying up the resources for printing. I believe it is stored in the printer (help me out here) until the next print job?? I just know on my Brother HL-5040, if I finish printing, I can push the go button until all the lights display and the machine will print the last job from memory. |
