I really don't see this happening. Too much business relies on fax transmissions, especially from small companies and organizations, both domestic and international, that really don't have the capability to digitize paper documents.

It's not a big deal, even though AT&T thinks it is, to have an analog channel on a digital network. A2D and D2A converters are everywhere and really inexpensive.
