I am writting this out of sheer frustration. A "signing service" calls me 1 hour and 45 minutes before an ELOC signing, they ask me to accept e-docs. I have never accepted e-docs because I don't have a laser printer. I told her I would be more than happy to come in to their office and pick up the loan docs, do the signing and return them.
I asked her what they would pay me, and she replied. "Well, it would have been $50.00 (even though I am certified, it should be at least $65), but we don't like to print e-docs because it costs us too much money, so we would have to deduct $25 from the signing fee to cover that cost. So you would get $25.00." I replied, "you want me to do a signing in less than an hour and a half, pick up and return docs to you for $25.00"??? And she replied..."yep".
I hung up! I have done this for over a year and have never heard anything like this before. Signing services are really taking advantage by paying so low and then pushing the signings at the last minute! ! I sure hope no one else is taking any signings for $25.00! |
