Re: All Purpose Acknowledgment in a loan package

Excellent advice by BearPaw/CO, both about how to add annotations to a certificate and about not being afraid to call your client to confirm whether or not the document preceding a blank certificate does actually need to be notarized. Unless there's some other indication or it's a document I know from experience that's often/usually notarized, I sometimes still call (after 17 years in this business). Especially for a newbie, it's always better to ask than to make a mistake.

The above post also reminded me that, when adding notations at the bottom of a notary certificate to ensure it doesn't get misused, one other thing I generally look for and add on is a unique identifying number, e.g. loan, escrow, file, APN, etc.
