In all the states I know of, for an acknowledgement, we do have to ID the person who appears, but wedon't have to see the person who appears sign the document. We just to ask them if it's their signature, and if they signed it for the reasons contained in the document (or similar wording).
But I don't think this subtle difference should make any difference in how safe and secure a notarized recorded document is (or isn't). |
