A real class act - Lynn - NC - lynnlowry@nc.rr.com
Posted by jac_il of IL on 10/19/05 10:41pmMsg #71322
I was approached by a newer notary who operates in NC. Her name is Lynn. She lives in Raliegh NC. She asked me to help her cousin get into the business here in IL. I told her at this time I was simply to busy to mentor someone and help her cousin. I have to date mentored 4 people and this year I am focusing on my family. As many of you know I am a single mother and I an in the middle of adding a addition to my home. Aside from that I should not be verbally abused by someone simply because I declined to help and politely I might add.
I am posting this message because IMO this type of notary is one who will bite you in the A$$ after she is finished with you. I would be vary weary of helping her in anyway. I am sure she has befriend many just to get your contacts then she will turn around and bad mouth you. I met Lynn because I offered to help her long ago. We chatted via email. Now she is showing her true colors.

For those of you who have read to this point below is her response to my email (which is also posted beneath hers). Which she apparently sent to her cousin and cc'd me :

What did you think of my message?

Jacquelyn is just so warm and fuzzy! There is a way to do this, but she certainly is not willing to tell. What a b*%ch! She must not believe that, “what goes ‘round, comes ‘round”, as I do. What kind of a mother would she make!?

Actually, her writing that she works with title companies and lenders directly is some help. Also, the fact that signing companies do operate in IL. Although there are some obstacles in your way, if she and others can work as notary signing agents in IL, you will be able to, as well.

I will get some contacts at signing companies together for you to call, to see if they do business in IL.

The state of Illinois seems to leave us old timers alone. They only go after the newbies for some reason perhaps it is because they actually talk with us on the phone and know our title company experience. I do not work with signing companies. I work with title companies direct and lenders direct. The state of IL does not want signing companies to operate in our state..... however they still do. Unfortunately I can not help or mentor your cousin.... she would have to get inline behind my cousin and my brothers finance who want a "in" as well. I am simply to busy compounded by the fact that I am a single mom to a 3 year old. Good luck to your cousin.
