Oh, good grief! This isn't rocket science, after all. Almost anyone can get a notary commission, at least in this state, unless they're a convicted felon or have done something really bad. The handbook is easy reading and the rules aren't that difficult to follow. Don't get me wrong, I have respect for what I do, but I don't blow it out of proportion either. I briefly explain docs and witness signings. I have a professional attitude when dealing with clients, lenders, and borrowers, I pay attention to details, dot the Is and cross the Ts, follow the laws, and respect the rules and other people. My time is valuable and I am paid nicely for it. But it certainly doesn't take a genius to do this. |
