RTC.. had them initial

I always have the borrower initial the RTC dates, especially if I have to write them in and of course if I have to change the dates. I just read (24 hours later) that the lender only wants the RTC initialed if I change the dates (well I did since there was not a date there) . Does it make a difference regarding funding of the loan if the initials are there? And would you have them initial if you had to write the date in yourself? I hope I am not making this sound to confusing. Thanks so much...
