Based on what I do, it appears I am practicing law. As we know title companies have closers as employees. They don't prepare anything. All they do is close loans. Since these closers are going over the HUD-1 and showing the customers the fees that they were charged and referring them to the L.O. on questions on fees. Are they practicing law?
If not, why would a contract closer (which we are) be practicing law when i am representing the title company at the closing and doing the same thing (contracted direct,no ss) ?
If they are practicing law, then I need to relook at my business model for the last 8 years and get on to the title company that showed me the ropes for closings. (Thanks Dennis_IN) You might have gotten me in trouble. |
