As I said below the $5.00 itself was only part of the equation probably the least. Ikando hit the nail on the head in as much as I just set a new fee for myself because the first job I got $50 for a closer distance. So to answer you question the mileage would not made a difference. But shame on me for not realizing on that because I was in a hurry to get off the phone at a signing.

As some "poster" was nice enough to point out that I should stop my whining.. I hadn't realized that is what I was doing. But I asked for opinions and most were helpful. Most times when people overreact as I did in this case there is a reason and certainly it was more than $5.00. Because it certainly wasn't a serious issue that I needed to lay out there. And I guess with the help of my good fellow notaries I worked it out and that will help me in the future how I handle things for myself. Isn't that part of what this forum is all about It should be. I mean that.

If you read my post below, you will see what I think was my bigger picture.
