I had the signing that I mentioned earlier in which I was the second notary going out to the borrowers' and in which I thought that perhaps the male borrower was going to be rude .
The male borrower put his wallet on the table. I asked him twice if he would please take it out because I needed to physically hold the ID , he asked "Why do you need to hold it?" ( in a rude manner) and I answered that the SOS required it. He, "the other notary didn't do it" and then he throws it on the table and says "oops!"
His wife was just watching, and after several comments of " well the other notary did this...." she shares that she wants to become a notary because it seems liken a easy way to make extra money.
So, back to my question, was I being anal regarding holding the ID or not? I like to feel it as I verify and write down info just in case it's a fake even if the borrower gets cranky. |
