I did a signing in the jail here. I met the wife at the jail and we went in. The wife brought the husbands ID with her and had already made a photo copy of it. I went in with the wife and when it was time to sign papers the guy was brought to the coutner with the guard. He signed and that was it. It was no big deal. They will let you bring your briefcase and stuff in when you tell them you are a notary. I wasnot to sure about that when I saw all the signs saying that you couldn't bring any kind of bags or cell phones in.

I would call ahead so that there aren't any surprises. It may ease your mind a bit.
