I happened to think as I was going to sleep that I wanted to be perfectly clear about my posts about networks and organizing notaries...one has nothing to do with the other. My original post was a marketing post.
Okay...so create your networks and do not worry about the organizing part. Whole different deal.
Yes, no matter what anyone says negative about networks, I have proof that networks will get you noticed by google.com and they will create a situation that will get title companies calling you more.
Organizing is a totally TOTALLY different animal. Like I said, I can be happy networking notaries in Texas and getting more business. That's the direction which will be my priority. I am not interested in leading a charge...I have posted on that ad nauseum. Anyway, friends...
To organize a group such is being talked about, you have to create a core to work from. You do a lot of discussion without going public. I have shared this several times and it's been ignored, but that's how it will work...*I think.* That's been my experience... MY experience and what has worked to bring a group together for a common purpose.
People are not excited to get on board if it will cost them anything and they see no VISION put before them first. Scattered before a crowd first to get feedback, sure, but then you get buy in from people on the ground and let them carry the story...you cannot sell the whole thing to a group in one fell swoop and you have to have a reason to make them buy in.
Gotta have a plan and then you move from there with the plan AND EVEN WITH A PLAN you have to have buy-in...and if you don't have buy-in, (get buy-in by listening to people--let them invest personally in the project) you still won't get it started. It is never like it is in a corporation where you say here it is and this is how it will be. People never trust a situation like that IMHO. It takes a lot of time. It took me six months to get a group of Texas notaries together. My plan was/is a really good one, it works and still there was hesitancy. Trust is always a part of any situation that takes people to get it off the ground.
Anyhow, what I originally posted about was really nothing to do with organizing nationwide. Re-read it if I have confused you. Stay focused, think out of the box, network yourself with others so that your website has something to offer OTHER than one tired old notary resume.
Have MANY resumes. That's what I am saying about that. I hope this clarifies that networking is very helpful to your marketing plan. I promise you it will help you stand out in a crowd.
