When you are on a site, if, at the top of your screen the address is shown as http://(etc.), it is NOT a secure site. A secure site will be shown as: https://(etc.). Watch for that little s.
I have noticed many sites where we are asked to 'sign up' that are NOT secure, but want your SS# or EIN. Be careful... it's a jungle out there.
