I was pretty much that little ADHD kid from HE__ when I was in school. It has been with me all my life.
The HARDEST part of a signing for me is answering a question when I need to stay focused.
Here is just a little tidbit for a new signers:
- repetitive questions I cannot answer without looking up and listening.
* How do I sign? * What's today's date?
---Solution: before you leave to go to the signing, write it or print it out on a legal size or letter size sheet. Place it in the middle of the table. That way they can look at the sheet and figure it out themselves.
- the taking down of a driver's license number/birthdate/etc. from a DL ---Solution: Now, I just say - Hold on folks, the is the hardest part of this job to me is getting these numbers down in order under the right name.
- When I am doing reverse mortgages -or, if the folks are elderly, I use a blue pen to mark an X on the signature line at the table no matter what color ink is required. (My mentor taught me that...learned it from NotRot - reading his posts.) That way they only ask once where the signature line is.
- If the folks did not sound too bright when I would call to confirm the appointment, I'd use pink and blue flags to put by the female/male signatures. Sometimes I would go there and they'd have a gloomy dark house and the flags would help a bit. This only has been necessary a few times.
After you get to a place where you have a rhythm, etc. You can skip these elementary things. |
