I belong to NetFlix because I love movies. However, on a fairly regular basis, I receive movies that do not work properly. I ended up investing in a scratch remover machine. Now I don't have to send the movie back and wait for a replacement.
My point is that I do not think that it is a good idea to give the borrowers only docs on disk. Disks are too easy to scratch and damage. Paper is pretty durable, considering. My dog used to love to nose any and all paper products off the coffee table, scrunch them up, and lay on them. I would retrieve them, smooth them out as best I could, and still be able to read them. Yeah, they would look like my dog laid on them and drooled on them, but they were still legible.
I myself, being a very special clumsy person, have managed to spill all kinds of things on my coffee table (i.e. soft drinks, tea, coffee, dinner, etc.) and am able to wipe the books, magazines, and miscellaneous papers off. Yeah, they're a little wavy the next day, but they're still legible.
Therefore, I think that borrowers should also have paper copies of at least the RTC, HUD, Note, TIL, and Mortgage in case something happens to that disk. |
