Florida is saturated with signing agents. Unfortunately a lot of them are doing signings for "pin money" and will work for less than those of us who are doing it full time and is our only source of income. Fortunately as the amount of signings are slowing down, the companies are calling their "professionals" first.
When I started doing this I was only one of a couple doing it in my county. There was no-one to go on a signing with to learn the business. Most companies do not like a signing agent taking along a "ride along" - privacy issues.
Those that have been in this business before the NNA started their signing agent side had no help getting started. There were message boards we could ask questions regarding a particular loan document we may have been unfamiliar with, but no-one would want to train their competition by helping them get started.
The best way for anyone to get started is to make sure they know their notary laws inside out, because it is mainly about correct notarizations. Pay to be listed on sites like this one
Invest in a good training guide like the one from the Signing Registry (which IMHO is the best one in the industry).
If you are willing to travel to Palm Bay, and are willing to pay for my time I am willing to go over some different types of loan docs with you and make sure you are thoroughly conversant with Florida Notary laws - but my experience does not come cheap.
