Hi I am in New Jersey, but this might help: the reason not to use a family member.
I have a person call me yesterday for advice that I could not give & referred him to an attorney.
But, as he told me, his dad wrote up his will on his deathbed. His daughter signed as the Notary & witnessed the document as well.
The son called for advice, because he does not have a sister & does not know who the daughter is.
This is why the witness should not be related.
i may never know the outcome of this.
