Why our fees "had" to be reduced

This is partly where those murderous title costs and our penny-pinching notary fees went. Fattening TC executive wallets. It takes a lot of crappy WFG notary fees to come up with half million in bribes. Today's news:

BOSTON (AP) - A San Diego man and a former college soccer coach charged in a sweeping college admissions scandal have agreed to plead guilty.

Authorities said Tuesday that former University of Southern California assistant women's soccer coach Laura Janke will plead guilty to racketeering conspiracy and cooperate with federal authorities.

Del Mar resident Toby MacFarlane, a former senior executive at a title insurance company (WFG), will also plead guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

MacFarlane was charged with paying bribes to get his children admitted to USC as fake athletic recruits.

According to case documents, MacFarlane was accused of paying an agency to fabricate a soccer profile for his daughter and a basketball profile for his son.

MacFarlane reportedly paid $450,000 to various organizations for the admissions. His daughter attended the school from 2014 to 2018 when she graduated, according to the documents. His son attended the school from 2017 to 2018.

Authorities say Janke helped create bogus athletic profiles to make MacFarlane's children look like star athletes.

MacFarlane was among 33 prominent parents charged in the case. Thirteen other parents, including actress Felicity Huffman, have already agreed to plead guilty.
