"LO promises anything to customer to close the deal "
That's no joke... I had a piggyback signing way back when - LO swore to borrowers there was no prepayment penalty on either loan - both notes clearly stated a prepayment penalty. They were upset about this as this was to be a short term deal in their minds as they were either going to refinance again or sell. So they called him - his explanation? "Well, you won't have a prepayment penalty because when you refinance, we'll waive our commission so you'll recoup it there".
They somehow were satisfied with this and agreed to sign away. Who was I to argue with him or them? But my first thought was "what if you're not in the business by that time?" and "What if they decide to go with another company?" So many thoughts had me shaking my head...but they signed and off it went.
