During COVID-19, my sister was forced to close her 40-year day spa business in Ojai, CA. It was been a very challenging year for her to keep her head above water. She found a grant program for small businesses that suffered huge losses due to COVID-19. Together we applied online and were successful in getting her a $5000 grant, which is coming this week. There aren't a lot of hoops to jump through either. 2019 tax return, bank info, business license, and a brief explanation as to how her business was negatively impacted by the pandemic. It's a start to her getting up and running at full speed, and of course, her longstanding loyal clientele is lining up to get in for all the treatments they've missed since March 2020.
If you or someone you know needs financial assistance for your small business, here is how you can find out more info. This is my sister's award letter.
Hi Candice,
On behalf of the State of California, we are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to receive the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant. Governor Newsom and the California State Legislature announced this grant program on November 30, recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting health and economic crises have been extremely challenging for many Californians. To that end, the hope is that these grant funds will help to alleviate your financial strain. Please click here for a special message from Governor Newsom about these funds. |
