It's not really that relevant (until it Is!). Usually it's a factor when it's about something we DON'T much like or are annoyed by. I can't tell you the no. of times I hear racial identity come up in polite conversation if the discussion is less than flattering (otherwise it's a moot/mute point). BUT, I'm not in the least distracted or offended by OP. Next time, just point out the regional Wines - and let us all fill in the blanks!
What I focused in on was the differences in how we present our packages to sign. I closed on a home purchase last week (yay) and the atty/t.a. kept handing me my doc copy; so, of course, I want to sign it! I was trying to contain myself. You could tell she had a well-versed system that was comfortable to her (she even told me she'd been doing this for over ___ years). Okay . . . Eventually I got her to relax a bit and I held my tongue (and my attention) while she explained and conducted the signing as she customarily did. Yes, she was thorough.
(BTW, don't want to go thru all the posts to find, but Hispanic/Latin is the definitive term for people of Latin American or Latino descent - unless you're FROM Spain. Just something to keep us 'Woke' since not all Spanish speakers are 'Mexican'!) |
