I agree with Linda. The 3.5 star companies may be iffy, and I'd just avoid any rated below that. It's also a very good idea to do a search from the forum here, as there are a number of sketchy outfits that we're unable to add to Signing Central. That happens when someone who's trying to run a signing service (or farming out work) also does signings themselves (or claims to). If they're registered as a notary, they can't be added as a signing service.
There are also some companies that ARE listed there that have been discussed at some length or at various times on the forum. If you do enough searching, you'll also see recommendations from some of the top pros here to go beyond that e.g. search them on Google, etc.
People aren't going to share the names of their favorite clients, but we DO freely share info about whom to avoid... (And good for you for posing your question that way - and for being clued in enough to ask!) |
