I watched the hearing about AB 1083 before the Assembly Judiciary Committee meeting. The main things I noticed:
The committee voted to move the bill along to the next committee.
Several commenters were concerned about how easy it would be for anybody to sue a platform provider.
Several commenters were concerned that RON notarizations performed out of state would not be acceptable in CA. One commenter went on at some length about how a buyer might buy property in CA, only to discover years later that the notarization was invalid.
All the comments were rather short and superficial. Nobody went into a word-by-word analysis of the bill
There was a general understanding that the bill needed further improvement as it moved through the various committees.
