Judges in contract and tort suits do not order anyone to pay anyone. The trier of fact (judge or jury) will find that one party owes another party; that is all the judge or jury will do. It is then up to the prevailing party to collect, which is usually a much more involved and laborious process than simply getting a judgment. |
