If it doesn't have a tracking number, that number isn't far off depending on the location. I get a lot of missing mail where I live. The informed delivery catches it, but it fails to be in my mailbox or show up.
If they have a tracking number, they have to find it. If not, I think they only pay out $50.00 if not insured for more.
