A field services company that I've worked for over the years continuously sends requests for client letter drops in obscure places - even after I tell them not to. On the rare occasion that something in my area comes up I give my fee; the answer is always, "We cannot pay that much." Today was another such rare time, and it was for an exterior inspection. Again, I give my fee. Same MO.
This week a lender contacts me for an app signing (my 1st one in a long while) over 20 miles from me. I explain how I handled these (no invoicing, fee upfront) when in VA - and what my fee was (just under $1xx.00). He agreed: Nope, not for an application. (Got it. See, I told you.) He did say he didn't know it was that far away . . .
When is it ever worth one's while to do this work as a favor to companies who clearly don't see any value in the work we do?
Writing a "nice" email to the field services company requesting that it's no longer mutually beneficial, etc. |
